Greek Yogurt Parfait

Breakfast foods are my favorite! Is is any easy option you can grab and requires little prep!

-1/2 cup oatmeal, raw (I like old fashioned)
-1/2 cup non fat Greek Yogurt
-1/2 Apple
-1/2 Cup Strawberries
-1/4 Cup Blueberries
-1 tbsp flaxseeds

Cut your apple & strawberries into bite size pieces. Place oatmeal and Greek yogurt into bowl, add cut fruit and blueberries and simply sprinkle flaxseeds over top. This can be made and eaten right away or it’s super duper yummy if you let it sit in the refrigerator so oats can soften.

Easy and out the door!

Of course you can switch up the fruit and make it to your taste. If you have a little more time, I was thinking….How delicious would it be to blend banana and the greek yogurt with a little peanut butter?!?!?!

The Weight of the Nation from HBO

It was so surreal coming home. I know my house inside and out but I felt like I was having an out of body experience- going through all of the cabinets and closets! I have stuff!!! A LOT of stuff! In Santa Monica, I got so used to living with the minimum. It was actually nice- I remember watching an episode of Oprah (love her!) where they toured different houses around the world. I believe it was the Swedish family that had virtually no possessions.  They had a beautiful home- absolutely stunning design. But no knicknacks, no pillows on the couch, no magazines on the coffee table- bare! 

When Oprah asked what it was like…the husband replied….“Less stuff, more LIFE”

That has stuck with me ever since and I think I finally understand.  I did have a full life without being attached to a lot of possessions. Now that I’m home and realized that I have 3 closets full of clothes…I am conflicted. What can I say…I like options! lol 

And of course…I missed my babies more than ANYTHING. Look how cute she is!! squeeellll!

I am also loving my the familiarity of my old routine. 

Wake up– 2 glasses of water
Workout– Cardio
Breakfast– Egg whites and oatmeal (add cinnamon, almonds & stevia)
Lunch– Chicken and 2 cups of greens
Snack– veggies & hummus OR greek yogurt plus protein powder
Dinner– Chicken and 2 cups of greens/veggies
WorkoutBrazil Butt Lift
Snack– Protein Shake

1 Cup Plain 0% fat Greek Yogurt
Dash of cinnamon
1 scoop BNS Dessert- Vanilla Protein Powder

Mix- and eat directly off the spatula so you feel like you’re eating icing 😉

This is a bit random- but this is my Paula Deen spatula. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen her kitchen stuff…but it’s AMAZING. The paring knives are outta this world =)

High Protein "Cheesecake"

Want something quick and simple, requires only two ingredients, is high in protein, low in sugar, and tastes like cheesecake?
If yes, then you’re gonna love me.

Behold – The Cheesecake Bowl

You only need two ingredients and you’ll have a yummy bowl that tastes like cheesecake. Plus, it’s high in protein (about 43-48 grams, depending on the protein powder you use) and very low in sugar. Win-win!


1 Cup Greek Yogurt
1 Scoop Protein Powder (use your favorite flavor)
That’s all you need.
Use your favorite protein powder brand and flavor. One of my personal favorites is Myofusion or BSN Dessert  You can’t pick a bad flavor because they are all awesome =) 
You can also try plain protein powder and then add your own flavoring, such as cocoa powder and cinnamon and if you need more sweetness- use a packet of Stevia 


Mix 1 Cup Greek Yogurt with 1 Scoop Protein Powder

And you’ll have a high protein, low sugar, quick and easy to make, cheesecake-like recipe.
The next time you have a sweet tooth moment or you want to tame your hunger with a high protein treat

Healthy Snack- Greek Yogurt

Dessert for breakfast?? YES PLEASE! So a lot of people think that yogurt is a healthy option. It CAN be..but you have to check your labels! Flavored yogurts have in the ballpark of 20 grams of sugar for a tiny 5 oz serving!!! 

My rule is to stay away from anything with more than 6 grams of sugar!! (or 6 grams of fat!!) 

So what to do?

This is PLAIN 0% fat greek yogurt…1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder and a dash of cinnamon! 

SERIOUSLY GUYS….I whipped it together, put in freezer for 5 min just to give it that chilled ice creamy taste and its like eating frosting! You can switch it up and just add cut up pieces of fruit. Make it the way you like it!!

UPDATE: I added Strawberries

This might sound a little dramatic, but I have day dreams about my greek yogurt/protein powder. The other afternoon it dawned on me that I should blend up some strawberries and add them like a fancy sauce. Here is the result!

My Supplies!
Magic Bullet
BSN Lean Dessert Protein: Vanilla
Oikos 0% Fat Greek Yogurt
1-2 Strawberries
I blended 2 strawberries and used 1/2 scoop of protein powder
Stir Greek Yogurt & Protein
Normally this is where I would stop…but today, we are making a special treat…
Drizzle on your strawberries! OMG tell me thats not heaven!
Eventually I just ended up pouring more strawberries in and mixing it all together.
I can honestly say this is wayyyy better than any store bought flavored yogurt I’ve ever had !!
